There are many sub-genres out there, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a sexual thriller. There are certainly sexual detective, sexual horror and sexual mystery genres. In a recent publishing convention in San Diego, there was a topic group asking the question of whether there is a limit to the extreme that horror writers can push, versus a mystery writer. I think that casting a wide net, one might find a sexual thriller vein.

Nice essay John. Now to update go out and buy "And the Rest is Noise, Listening to the Twentieth Century" by Alex Ross, now in paper back.
I think even you won't be able to put it down.
I met someone recently who is composing works for or doing a show with "your instrument".
(Must work on remembering who what where.) I mentioned you.
Grüsse aus Berlin - where it is evening and through the open french-style doors, music - a waltz played on a sidewalk calliope... I kid you not.

Just wanted to say I enjoyed The Desert Contract, it was good company - just the right blend of pace, plot, theme and romance! I will look for your next book. Having just returned from a trip to Cambodia, The End of the Monsoon sounds doubly interesting.

Very nice. This is probably a useful entry for some people -
Fortunately (at this point) I am not among them.
However, from a literary pov, I found it wonderful to read.
The restrained tone conveys depth.
It's a movingly succinct piece of writing. MD
